AIMEE

Aimee is the owner and founder of Fruitdale Farm. She returned to her Ohio roots in 2016, after 15 years of living and working abroad, and purchased land in pursuit of her homesteading dreams. With a background in community organizing, permaculture, and organic gardening, much of her farming experience comes from her time spent in the tropics.

Aimee embraces a "work hard, play hard" ethos and loves the challenge of figuring things out on her own. She prides herself on her grit and resourcefulness and has a knack for salvaging materials and turning them into functional and artful structures around the farm.

Her passions include exploring nature, making and listening to music, sharing epic moments with friends, growing things, building things, cooking things, and learning things the hard way. She is also a yoga teacher and enjoys sharing her practice as part of a balanced and mindful life.

Aimee envisions Fruitdale Farm continuing to grow into a thriving, creative landscape that nourishes people, supports biodiversity, and celebrates the abundance of the natural world.

AMANDA

Amanda is a passionate gardener and community-minded grower with over 20 years of experience in organic gardening. A self-proclaimed chaos gardener, she loves planting diverse mixes of vegetables, flowers, and herbs and watching the garden evolve in its own wild and beautiful way. She believes deeply in the power of growing food to nourish both people and communities and is involved in projects that help connect young people to the land and the joy of growing their own food.

When she’s not in the garden, Amanda especially loves turning the harvest into meals to share with family and friends. Her other interests include spending time in nature, foraging for mushrooms, listening to music, playing chess, and sharing simple moments with her son, her dog Oscar, and the people she cares about.

.

Amanda moved to Fruitdale in 2025 and looks forward to contributing her experience, curiosity, and love of the natural world to the growing vision of the farm.
